Initial promise of six PIME seminarians in Pune, India
The PIME Vidya Bhavan community, Pune, India; celebrated with joy and spiritual vigour the initial promise of six of its seminarians on 4th April 2018. The delegate of the superior general, Fr. Rupak Lokhande, the rector of PIME Vidya Bhavan received the promises from the candidates. The main celebrant for the Holy Eucharist celebration was Most. Rev. Vincent Aind, the Bishop of the diocese of Bagdogra, West Bengal. A special emphasize was given in the liturgy to the cultural expressions of the Chota-Nagpur Region of Northern India expressing the openness of PIME towards new realities in the mission and also as part of the mission animation. The venue for the initial promise was Sacred Heart church, Yerwada and the families of the candidates and a good number of parishioners joined in the Holy Eucharist celebration praying for the candidates. The theme that was chosen for the initial promise was “From His fullness we all receive grace upon grace” from the Gospel of St. John. On the following day on 5th April, a thanks giving Holy Eucharist was celebrated in the seminary chapel, which was presided over by by Most. Rev. Bp. Vincent Aind.
The day was organised in a way that the parents prepared the lunch for the whole community as a special expression of their joy and happiness in the initial promise of their sons and the welcome that PIME is offering to their sons.
